Vintage archive for stylistic useGarments that are not for sale but are available for hire by professionals in the sector: designers, style offices, stylists, fashion magazines, researchers, experts, teachers and students.
A world that also takes on a social value and becomes a need for recovery and attention to the preservation of our history, a place destined to preserve the memory of costume, but also a fundamental stage in the designers’ current creative process. The clothes and accessories are selected for the archive according to different criteria: from the importance of the brand, the designer or the tailor, to rarity, eccentricity, detail, the particular models or the materials with which they are made. The exhibition area of the archive, dedicated to rentals, extends over several floors of the Vintage Palace and surrounding areas, and combines exclusive designer clothes with everyday, sports, military and work wear. It therefore offers a broad view of the history of costume over the last century, including accessories such as scarves, glasses, bags and shoes. Of particular interest is the collection of military garments, divided by country and period of origin, and of historical denim, which represent the starting point of the A.N.G.E.L.O. collection.
The selection of garments dating from the end of the 19th century to the 1920s and 1930s, the rarest and most delicate, are catalogued and stored in optimal conditions for their preservation: they are wrapped in sheets of non-acidic tissue paper to absorb any moisture and protect them, and placed horizontally inside cardboard boxes. This selection of vintage clothes is mainly available for exhibitions, or specific requests.
A.N.G.E.L.O. is now considered by those working in the sector to be an international point of reference for the entire fashion system.
